Christmas Time - Stress or Love
Endless shopping, no parking, screaming kids, tired parents and maxed out credit cards! Is this the Christmas we all look forward to every year?
Christmas can be a difficult time for most people, families holding grudges with one another therefore missing out on visiting loved ones, some all alone with no one to share, others abandoned and disregarded, yet those doing it tough financially this year can truly evaluate things for what they are. You finally get to sit back and see Christmas for what it truly is and begin to enjoy people for who they are. Everything else fades into the background, all the noise, the shopping and the yelling kids of how they want the most expensive gifts in the store!. You realize it really doesn't matter if its turkey, ham or lamb on the table and the condiments are just a mix of this or that, but when all these things pass its the company you have and the relationships. Coping with nothing else but people and family around you, who you may have been avoiding all year long, have finally reached the wall where there is no more and its time to face your challenges. No more busy laptops, blackberries, mobiles, FaceBook or emails, but good old fashioned sitting down at the table for a family roast and good conversation.
Yes I love Christmas, a time of sharing, hugs, love, words, comfort, kisses, forgiveness, past regrets and looking towards a great new future and excitement what God will bring in the New Year. A time of laughter, remembrance or reminders that its not the things we have, need or want, but the love that comes from the eternal Father, who loved us first before all the nonsense was about. A love so good that people are still talking about it some 2000 years later! A love so unconditional and perfect that anyone who looks in the eyes of Jesus and accepts Him into their heart are changed forever!!.
Yes let us remember the true meaning of Christmas and all that God has done.
Isaiah 9:6 – “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”.
God bless
